Treat Yourself - Art Prints and Purple Hair!

There’s nothing quite like seeing your work come to life in a tangible, polished form. Today, I treated myself to something special: several of my own art pieces, beautifully printed, matted, and ready to be framed. When the package arrived, I couldn’t wait to unwrap them and see my creations.

L to R: The Barrel, Chromatic Spiral, Petal Whirl, Tidal Drift and Violet Symphony

This purchase wasn’t just about indulging in my own work; it was also about ensuring the quality my customers can expect when they purchase prints from me (I’m working with a new print vendor). I’m thrilled to report that the quality is fantastic—vivid colors, crisp details, quality paper and professional finishing.

But today wasn’t just about art. I also revisited a little piece of self-expression that had been missing for a while: putting purple streaks in my hair. For years, that pop of purple was part of my identity, a joyful expression of my personality. I loved that my purple hair was a vibrant defiance of my conservative finance profession. Sometime during the pandemic, I stopped keeping up with it, and while it seemed like a small thing, I’ve missed it. Bringing those purple streaks back was a simple act, but it felt like reclaiming a part of myself. It’s amazing how something so seemingly small can have such a profound effect on how you feel.

These two acts—celebrating my artwork and embracing a bit of colorful self-expression—are perfect reminders that joy can come from both the big milestones and the small, intentional moments. Whether it’s seeing your work displayed with pride or adding a touch of vibrant color to your day, finding what makes you happy is always worth it.

What are you going to do special for yourself today? Make it a great one!
